Getting There & Parking Near Port Everglades

Everything you need to know about parking and getting to Port Everglades. Compare options, rates, and get pro tips from experienced cruisers.

6 picks from real cruiser reviews

From Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL)

FLL is just 5 miles from Port Everglades — the closest major airport to any cruise port in the US. It's the only port in the nation located adjacent to an airport.

Uber/Lyft: $15-22 depending on terminal. Taxi: ~$18-21 flat rate. Shared shuttle: $11-19 per person.Best for: Most cruisers flying in

The ride is only 15-20 minutes, but allow 45 minutes from landing to account for luggage claim and cruise terminal processing. Uber is usually the best deal for couples; shared shuttles are better for solo travelers.

From Miami International Airport (MIA)

MIA is about 30-35 miles from Port Everglades. Cheaper flights sometimes make this worth considering, but factor in the longer transfer.

Uber/Lyft: $40-60 depending on traffic. Taxi: ~$75-85.Best for: Cruisers who found significantly cheaper flights to MIA

I-95 traffic can add significant time, especially during rush hour (7-9 AM, 4-7 PM). If your flight arrives during peak times, add 45-60 min buffer. Consider staying near MIA and driving to the port in the morning.

Driving & Parking at the Port

Port Everglades has two main parking garages: Heron (Northport, terminals 2 & 4) and Palm (Midport/Southport, terminals 19-29). Follow the color-coded signs from any port entrance.

Port parking: $20/day cars, $25/day oversized vehicles. No reservations or pre-payment accepted.Best for: Cruisers driving from Florida or nearby states

Follow orange Heron signs for terminals 2 & 4 (Disney, Princess). Follow green Palm signs for terminals 18-29 (Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Holland America). Bring a credit card — debit cards NOT accepted. A free shuttle runs between Palm Garage and Terminal 29.

Hotel Shuttle Services

Many hotels near the port offer cruise shuttle packages. Quality and timing vary — some are one-way only with fixed departure times.

Usually included in park & cruise packages ($100-200 total for night + parking + shuttle)Best for: Cruisers who want to bundle hotel + parking + transport

Always confirm shuttle times before booking — some only run once in the morning. Free shuttles are rare and often have limitations. Hyatt Place, Holiday Inn Express, and Rodeway Inn have reliable shuttle service to the port.

Uber/Lyft from Anywhere

Rideshare is readily available throughout Fort Lauderdale. The port has designated pickup/dropoff areas at each terminal.

From FLL: $15-22. From downtown: $10-15. From beach hotels: $8-12. From Miami area: $40-60.Best for: Flexibility and door-to-door service

On busy embarkation days (weekends especially), prices can surge in the morning. Check prices early. The port dropoff areas are well-organized — drivers know where to go. Request to be dropped at your specific terminal.

Taxi

Traditional taxis are available at FLL airport and can be hailed at hotels. Flat rates from the airport are common.

FLL to port: ~$18-21 flat rate. Downtown to port: ~$15-20.Best for: Cruisers who prefer fixed pricing over surge-based rideshare

Taxis can be a good deal when Uber is surging. Flat rates mean no surprises. Ask the driver to confirm the rate before getting in. Taxi stands at FLL are in the lower level of each terminal.
