Most cruise lines assign an arrival window during online check-in, and arriving inside that window is the best way to avoid the longest terminal lines. General boarding usually runs from late morning into the early afternoon, but the exact timing varies by ship, port, and sail date. Follow the check-in instructions your cruise line sends you — they always take priority over general guidance.

Where does Eurodam depart from at Port Everglades?

The current schedule lists Terminal 26. Confirm your terminal with the cruise line before traveling.

Drop-off: Terminal 26 is in the Midport area. Follow green Palm signs from any port entrance. Drop off luggage curbside with porters (tip $2-3 per bag), then drop off passengers at the terminal entrance before parking in Palm Garage.

When should I board Eurodam?

Holland America online check-in typically opens several weeks before sailing through your booking or the Navigator app, and many departures ask you to select a check-in appointment or arrival window. Completing it early typically shortens your time in line at the pier.

Windows and opening dates vary by ship, homeport, and loyalty tier, so always follow your cruise line's instructions for your specific sailing.

Where can I park for an Eurodam cruise?

  • Driving & Parking at the Port: Port parking: $20/day cars, $25/day oversized vehicles. No reservations or pre-payment accepted.

Official Terminal

Terminal 26

Drop-off: Terminal 26 is in the Midport area. Follow green Palm signs from any port entrance. Drop off luggage curbside with porters (tip $2-3 per bag), then drop off passengers at the terminal entrance before parking in Palm Garage.

Parking: Park in Palm Garage — $20/day for cars, $25/day for oversized vehicles. The garage has 1,900+ spaces and serves Terminals 19, 21, 25, 26 and 29. Reasonable walk to Terminal 26. Note: Port Everglades' Palm Garage is a different building from FLL airport's own Palm Garage about two miles away — navigate to the port address or your terminal number, not just "Palm Garage."

Check-in tips:

  • Complete your cruise line's online check-in before arrival to speed up the process
  • Bring your boarding pass (printed or on phone) and passport/ID for all guests
  • Terminal 26 was renovated as part of a $54 million port improvement project
  • Arrive during your assigned boarding window for the smoothest check-in experience

Getting to the Port

From Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL)

FLL sits about 2 miles from Port Everglades — the closest major airport to any cruise port in the US. It's the only port in the nation located adjacent to an airport. The drive itself is 15-20 min, though traffic lights on the access roads make it feel longer than the distance suggests.

Uber/Lyft: $15-22 depending on terminal. Taxi: ~$18-21 flat rate. Shared shuttle: $11-19 per person.

From Miami International Airport (MIA)

MIA is about 30-35 miles from Port Everglades. Cheaper flights sometimes make this worth considering, but factor in the longer transfer.

Uber/Lyft: $40-60 depending on traffic. Taxi: ~$75-85.

Driving & Parking at the Port

Port Everglades has two main parking garages: Heron (Northport, terminals 2 & 4) and Palm (Midport/Southport, terminals 19-29). Follow the color-coded signs from any port entrance.

Port parking: $20/day cars, $25/day oversized vehicles. No reservations or pre-payment accepted.

Hotel Shuttle Services

Many hotels near the port offer cruise shuttle packages. Quality and timing vary — some are one-way only with fixed departure times.

Usually included in park & cruise packages ($100-200 total for night + parking + shuttle)

Local Tip

The terminal was renovated as part of a $54 million port improvement project. Complete check-in through Holland America's Navigator app, and Mariner Society members get priority lanes. For a waterfront pre-cruise meal, 15th Street Fisheries is about 8 minutes away at Lauderdale Marina.
