At Hobby, follow the Ground Transportation signs to the shaded ride-app queue in Arrivals Curb Zone 5. Rental-car shuttles leave from Curb Zone 1, while private passenger pickups use Zones 2 and 3. That compact curb is simpler than IAH's terminal-specific pickup system. Galveston shuttles run on schedules rather than on demand, so reserve a departure and check the last morning run. Before leaving the airport, verify which cruise terminal you need: Terminal 10 is a 5-minute drive from the downtown terminals. Hobby is the shorter transfer at 45 miles and about 60 minutes without traffic. Hobby's international traffic is thin — a few routes, mostly Mexico and the Caribbean — but if yours is one of them, allow up to 90 extra minutes for customs before committing to a shuttle slot. Visa-waiver travelers need ESTA approval in hand before departure: airlines check it at the origin gate and nobody issues it on arrival. The one legitimate place to apply is esta.cbp.dhs.gov, CBP's own site — skip the paid lookalikes.
