Pro tip: The garage has a strict 7-foot height limit, and the terminal separately turns away any vehicle that uses more than one space — so a roof box, a shell, a hitch bike rack or an RV is out. LGB is 9.6 miles from the cruise terminal by road — a 20-30 min drive, and about 16 minutes on an empty road, routed free-flow (OpenStreetMap/Valhalla, 2026-09-22). It's a tiny, stress-free airport with one terminal, and you'll be at the port before you know it. Limited airline options (JetBlue, Southwest, Delta, American) but if your route works, it's the obvious choice.
Pro tip: LGB has no jet bridges — you walk across the tarmac to the terminal. It feels retro in the best way. If you can fly Southwest or JetBlue here instead of LAX, do it. You'll save an hour of stress and $30+ on the transfer.

The seven-foot ceiling is the rule that catches Californians out
The garage ceiling is seven feet, and oversized vehicles — defined as any using more than one parking space — are excluded outright and told to make alternate or off-site arrangements. The Queen Mary is next door, and its parking is a separate transaction
Two official sources publish different rates for the same lot; budget the higher figure and confirm at check-in. One more thing to check before you plan a night here: the property publishes a list of dates when events outside the ship move its parking entirely. On those dates hotel guests park at the Southshore Launch Ramps at 590 Queensway Drive and day visitors at the Pike Parking Garage at 65 Cedar Ave, with a complimentary shuttle run for Queen Mary guests and the usual rates still applying.
