Parking
The terminal parking garage is $23/day with a 7-foot clearance limit — no oversized vehicles. You'll need to make alternate arrangements for anything taller. Short-term rates start at $4 for 31-59 minutes if you're dropping off. Carnival Corporation, which owns and operates the terminal, warns that terminal parking is limited and that off-site parking has been arranged for certain sailings — review your booking emails to find out whether yours makes it mandatory (carnival.com, checked 2026-08-27).
Passenger drop-off
Take I-710 South to Exit 1A onto Harbor Scenic Drive and follow it to the very end. At the Queen Mary entrance, stay to the far right lane — that's the cruise terminal entrance, not the Queen Mary parking. Drop luggage curbside with porters (tip $2-3 per bag), then loop around to the parking garage.
Before you arrive
Arrive during the check-in window in your cruise-line documents.
- Complete online check-in through the Carnival HUB app before arrival — this speeds things up dramatically
- Bring proof of citizenship plus a government-issued photo ID — a driver's license alone is not accepted, even a REAL ID. An Enhanced Driver's License (WA, NY, MI, MN, VT) counts as both on a round trip. A passport covers both; on a closed-loop sailing that returns to Long Beach, a state-issued birth certificate with your photo ID also works, and guests under 16 need only the birth certificate
- The terminal is inside the former Spruce Goose dome — a massive aluminum geodesic dome you can't miss
- Boarding groups are assigned through the app. Earlier groups board first, so check in as soon as it opens
- Make sure Long Beach is your port and not the other one. Carnival is the only line listed here as sailing from this port; the Port of Los Angeles runs a separate cruise terminal 10 miles west — the World Cruise Center in San Pedro — where Royal Caribbean, Princess, Norwegian, Virgin and a dozen more lines load. Your itinerary carries a seaport code that settles it: Long Beach is US LGB, Los Angeles is US LAX.
Last-minute supplies
There's very little shopping near the terminal itself — the Queen Mary area has a gift shop but no drugstore. Your best bet is to stop at CVS on Long Beach Blvd downtown or Vons on Ocean Ave in Belmont Shore before heading to the port. Don't count on finding anything at the terminal.
