Most cruise lines assign an arrival window during online check-in, and arriving inside that window is the best way to avoid the longest terminal lines. General boarding usually runs from late morning into the early afternoon, but the exact timing varies by ship, port, and sail date. Follow the check-in instructions your cruise line sends you — they always take priority over general guidance.

Where does Radiance of the Seas depart from at Port Tampa Bay?

The current schedule lists Terminal 3 (Carnival). Confirm your terminal with the cruise line before traveling.

Drop-off: Continue down Channelside Drive past Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 at 815 Channelside Dr. The drop-off lane is directly in front. Porters will tag and take your luggage curbside — tip $2-3 per bag. Then follow signs to the parking garage.

When should I board Radiance of the Seas?

Royal Caribbean online check-in typically opens about 45 days before sailing, and you select your arrival time in the Royal Caribbean app as part of it. Earlier arrival slots typically fill first, so checking in the day it opens gives you the most choice.

Windows and opening dates vary by ship, homeport, and loyalty tier, so always follow your cruise line's instructions for your specific sailing.

Where can I park for a Radiance of the Seas cruise?

  • Driving & Port Parking: $18/day at the port garage. Off-site options like Rightway Parking start at $10-14/day with shuttle service.

Official Terminal

Terminal 3 (Carnival)

Drop-off: Continue down Channelside Drive past Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 at 815 Channelside Dr. The drop-off lane is directly in front. Porters will tag and take your luggage curbside — tip $2-3 per bag. Then follow signs to the parking garage.

Parking: Same covered parking garage as Terminal 2, running $18/day. Pre-booking online is recommended on busy weekends. The garage is a short walk from the terminal entrance. Credit cards and cash accepted — no debit cards at the gates.

Check-in tips:

  • Download the Carnival HUB app and complete online check-in before arriving
  • Have your boarding pass (Carnival) ready on your phone
  • Bring a valid passport for international itineraries and a government-issued photo ID
  • Arrive during your assigned boarding window to avoid congestion at security screening

Getting to the Port

From Tampa International Airport (TPA)

TPA is about 20 minutes from Port Tampa Bay by car, making it one of the most convenient airport-to-port transfers in Florida. The airport is modern, well-organized, and rarely has the chaos you see at MIA or FLL.

Uber/Lyft: $15-25 depending on traffic. Taxi: ~$25-35. Shared shuttle: $15-20/person.

From Orlando International Airport (MCO)

MCO is about 75-90 minutes west of Tampa. Some cruisers fly into Orlando for better flight deals or to combine a Disney trip with their cruise. Factor in the longer drive and possible I-4 traffic.

Uber/Lyft: $90-130. Shared shuttle: $45-60/person. Rental car one-way: check rates.

Driving & Port Parking

Port Tampa Bay has a covered parking garage across from Terminals 2 and 3 on Channelside Drive, plus a separate lot at Terminal 6 on McKay Street. The port is easy to reach from I-4 (Exit 1) or the Crosstown Expressway (SR-618). Follow signs to your specific terminal once on Channelside Drive.

$18/day at the port garage. Off-site options like Rightway Parking start at $10-14/day with shuttle service.

Hotel Shuttle Services

Several Tampa hotels offer park-and-cruise packages with shuttle service to the port. The Hampton Inn Channel District is walking distance. The Barrymore Hotel, Quality Inn Airport, and several others include port shuttles in their cruise packages.

Usually bundled in park-and-cruise packages ($100-200 total for night + parking + shuttle)
