Drop-off
All cars enter the terminal from the north at the intersection of 55th Street and 12th Avenue (State Route 9A) — that is the official vehicle entrance for the whole Manhattan Cruise Terminal, per nycruise.com (cruise.nyc), checked 2026-07-29. Passengers arrive at the street level of the pier where their ship is berthed; signs identifying each vessel are posted on the pillars nearest the correct berth, and porters receive baggage there. If you are driving yourself and parking, the official instruction is to park first and then drop luggage on the second level for check-in — passengers who need parking cannot drop bags first and then park without exiting the terminal.

Off-site alternatives listed by the terminal include iPark at 518 West 43rd Street & 10th Avenue and Enterprise 57 Parking at 640 West 57th Street.

There's nothing to buy inside the terminal. The closest pharmacy is CVS on 10th Avenue (800 10th Ave, 5 min walk). For groceries or snacks, Whole Foods Daily Shop (301 W 50th St) is a 10-minute walk. Get everything you need before you arrive.
Drop-off
Pier 90 is adjacent to Pier 88 at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal complex. All vehicles enter from 55th Street and 12th Avenue. Follow terminal staff directions for your specific pier assignment. If you are driving and parking, the terminal's rule runs backwards from most ports: park on the rooftop first, then bring your luggage down to the second level for check-in — you cannot drop bags curbside and then go park without leaving the terminal.
Parking
Same parking as Pier 88 — the rooftop garage serves both piers. On-site rate is $45.00 per night, taxes included, credit card only. Third-party garages a five-to-eleven-minute walk inland may offer better rates for a full week.

Drop-off
This is the wrong borough for the Manhattan Cruise Terminal, and that is the most useful thing this page can tell you. The Brooklyn Cruise Terminal is a separate facility at Pier 12 in Red Hook, about six miles across the harbour and further by road, with its own entrance, its own parking and its own ships. If your documents say Brooklyn, use our Brooklyn guide — it carries the addresses, the $45 parking, the ferry and bus fares and the boarding-day timings, all read from NYCEDC and the operators on 2026-08-17. In short: cars enter at Bowne Street and Imlay Street, and the address NYCEDC publishes for GPS is 210 Clinton Wharf, Brooklyn, NY 11231.
Parking
Brooklyn has its own on-site outdoor lot at $45.00 per night for up to 24 hours, taxes included, with no reservation needed — a different lot at a different price from Manhattan's. Check-in Tips
- Check which terminal your cruise line names before you set a GPS — Manhattan and Brooklyn are two facilities a harbour apart, and 23 of the 133 ships in NYCEDC's record have used both
- Baggage processing at the New York terminals starts no earlier than 9:30 am and boarding generally begins between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm — your cruise line's assigned window still decides your time
- Neither New York cruise terminal stores luggage, so plan the gap between hotel check-out and boarding around that
- Driving to Brooklyn? The only vehicle entrance is Bowne Street at Imlay Street

All vehicles enter from the north at 55th Street and 12th Avenue (Route 9A/West Side Highway). From the Lincoln Tunnel, take 42nd Street west to 12th Avenue, then north to 55th. On-site parking is available but extremely expensive. Third-party lots nearby offer valet service to the terminal.
Pro tip: Do NOT drive in Manhattan if you can avoid it. If you must: the pier lot is card-only and has not taken cash since 2020, spaces are not guaranteed, and the rooftop height limit is eight feet. Manhattan Cruise Parking at 670 W 43rd St drives you and your luggage to the terminal in your own car — but coming home you make your own way back to the garage or pay a one-time $45 delivery charge. Ignore the low 'starting at' figures on booking marketplaces: they reflect whatever short window the site has loaded, and SpotHero's own summary put overnight parking near the terminal at around $44, essentially the pier's own rate.

JFK is about 20 miles from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Drive time is 45-90 min depending on traffic, and can stretch past two hours during a bad rush hour. This is the most common airport for international and domestic cruisers.
Pro tip: The AirTrain to Sutphin Blvd–Archer Av–JFK Airport station, then the E train toward Manhattan, is the cheapest option — the A and C trains don't serve Jamaica, so don't wait for one. If you're taking a cab, the flat rate is your friend — no surprises. Avoid arriving during weekday rush hour (4-7 PM) if possible.

CostYellow taxi: metered, because LaGuardia's own taxi page publishes no flat fare for any destination. Q70 bus, which is free, plus a $3.00 subway fare.
LaGuardia is the closest airport at about 10 miles from the terminal. Drive time is 30-60 min depending on traffic through Queens.
Pro tip: LaGuardia is close but traffic through Queens can be brutal. The Q70 bus connects to the subway and is surprisingly fast for the price. If taking a cab or rideshare, ask the driver to take the Midtown Tunnel route.

Newark is about 18 miles from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Drive time is 30-75 minutes depending on Lincoln Tunnel traffic. Often has cheaper flights than JFK.
Pro tip: NJ Transit train to Penn Station, then walk or cab to the terminal is reliable and avoids Lincoln Tunnel traffic. The AirTrain + NJ Transit combo takes about 45 minutes to Penn Station. If driving, budget extra time for the Lincoln Tunnel — it can add 30+ minutes during peak times.

The A/C/E trains stop at 42nd Street-Port Authority, about a 15-minute walk from the terminal. The 1 train stops at 50th Street, also about 15 minutes walking. The subway is the fastest way to get to the terminal from most Manhattan locations.
Pro tip: If you're staying in Manhattan, the subway is almost always the best option — no traffic, no surge pricing. The walk from the subway to the terminal is about 15 minutes west on 42nd or 50th Street. Travel light or use a luggage service — dragging suitcases through the subway isn't fun.
